Trauma + Resilience

Trauma Awareness and Resilience offers Trauma-Informed Care for Culturally Reverent, Sensitive, Healing Care

Trauma can be visceral, painful, and uniquely experienced by any individual. Human services providers are often frontline workers, experiencing this trauma both firsthand and concurrently with the individuals in their care. Trauma Awareness + Resilience is our trauma-informed care training. This training is a vital component of any organization, and especially in human services.

Trauma-Informed Care provides:

  • Understanding for the individual experience
  • Better communication and engagement
  • Identification of triggers and retraumatizing experiences
  • Lower burnout amongst caregivers
  • Healing and forward movement

Understanding trauma and the benefits of trauma-informed care can have a profound shift in an organization. Through stories and supporting science, our Trauma-Informed Care Training learners explore experiences termed traumatic.

They gain greater knowledge of the ways trauma is individualized. They will also learn the importance of empathy and compassion in the care process. Not only does trauma-informed care benefit the target population of the organization, but it empowers caregivers to prepare when triggers arise.

Learners discover how to help people rewire and begin to heal from the constant traumatic stress that surrounds them (and us!). Our Trauma-Informed Care training is designed for clinical and non-clinical service providers and leaders.

TRAUMA + RESILIENCE TRAINING OVERVIEW

Our Trauma Awareness and Resilience program features four main objectives that we explore over the course.

Effects of Trauma

We explore the effects of trauma from a neuroscientific point of view (but in layperson’s terms). Learners discover how trauma impacts a person’s worldview, brain development, adaptive behaviors, and triggers.

Trauma Types

Trauma is broken down into the categories and types—Historical, Gender, Community, Interpersonal, Moral, Racial, and Family—and explored using storytelling and experiential activities.

Impacts of Traumatic Stress

Learners will discover how to identify the impacts of traumatic stress on a person’s cognition and affect, enabling them to apply their learning in the organizational setting.

Interventions and Approaches

We’ll explore an overview of effective healing interventions, client education skills, and approaches to ease the stress on care providers and those they serve.
